According to Leggo, Carlo Ancelotti could take over as the new manager of Chelsea, with Marcello Lippi replacing him at Milan. The Italian and English press has gone into overdrive in the past week following the dismissals of Avram Grant and Roberto Mancini at Chelsea and Inter respectively.

While Jose Mourinho is nailed on to take over the reigns at the Italian champions, a whole host of names, including Guus Hiddink, Sven Goran Eriksson, Lippi, Mancini, and Ancelotti have been linked with the Chelsea job.

According to today’s edition of Leggo, Ancelotti could leave AC Milan in order to take over at Stamford Bridge. The Rossoneri tactician was spotted with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich in Geneva earlier this week, and while he claims that he was only there on holiday rather than to talk about a potential move to West London, it seems there may have indeed been more behind the rendezvous.

Milan have prepared for the possible exit of Ancelotti by lining up legendary coach Marcello Lippi as his replacement.

The 60-year-old has been out of work since leading Italy to World Cup glory in 2006, but he would relish the chance to work with the San Siro giants.
